Schlage LiNK Cell Phone FAQ
1. How do I know if my phone will work with this system?
A phone that can access the internet can be used for remote monitoring. Many phones purchased in 2006 or later will be able to access the internet and be fully functional with the Schlage LiNK System. To verify your phone will work with the Schlage LiNK System, please text “phone” to “mylink” (695465) and you will receive a message back indicating if your phone is compatible.
2. Does the Droid phone work with this system?
Not at this time. This phone uses an Android based operating system which requires specific Schlage LiNK application software. While the Schlage LiNK application software isn't available at this time, it is being considered for 2010 deployment. Continue to check this website for updates.
3. Do I need a data plan for my phone to work?
YES. A data plan with your service provider is required for your phone to access the internet and send and receive the data necessary to remotely monitor and control your Schlage LiNK System.
4. Do I need my cell phone to access and manage the lock?
NO. You can also use a computer connected to the internet to access and manage the lock or you can enter codes directly at the lock.
5. Can I view video from a Schlage Camera on my phone?
YES. If you have a compatible phone with a data plan, you will be able to view video from Schlage Cameras included in your Schlage LiNK System.
6. Can I control a Z-Wave thermostat from my phone?
YES. If you have a compatible phone with a data plan, and you have a Z-Wave thermostat enrolled in your Schlage LiNK System, you can monitor temperature and change set points from your phone or from a computer connected to the Internet.
